Children’s Storytime

PLEASE NOTE: Our Story Time/Playroom is unavailable at certain times during the week due to class visits and Therapy Dogs. Families are welcome to come use the play room when it is available. It is NOT available : Mondays 10:30 – 11:00, Tuesdays 1:00 – 3:00 , Thursday 2:00 – 2:30, Fridays 1:15 – 2:30.

Preschool Storytime: Southworth Library offers preschool storytime for children ages 3 and up from September to December and again from February to the middle of May. It is held in the Storytime Room on the lower level of the library. It lasts for 45 minutes and includes stories, songs, and fingerplays. Registration appreciated.

Baby Songs: A program especially designed for babies and their caregivers. The 20 minute interactive program includes songs and fingerplays. An adult care giver must attend with each child. It is held in the Storytime Room on the lower level of the Southworth Library  September through December and again from January through May.

Mother Goose on the Loose: This literature based program is for children up to age 2 years and their parents. Through the use of puppets, music, rhymes, instruments and adult/child interaction, the love of reading, early literacy and school readiness is encouraged. Led by the Children’s Librarian, this 30 minute program has met with great success in public libraries across the country. It is held in the Southworth Library Storytime Room from September through December and January through May.
