Access Britannica online on a mobile device. This site provides more than 72,000 articles, more than 12,000 photos, drawings, maps, and flags, more than 23,000 biographies, more than 15,000 geographical articles, more than 17,000 related Internet links AND the Merriam-Webster Dictionary with more than 73,000 entries.
Mango Languages App
Mango Mobile Library Edition is a powerful language learning platform that delivers fast, easy and effective language learning wherever your travels take you. With the free iPhone and Android apps from Mango, you can access the same courses available through your library when you’re on the go. For the apps to work, you must have an account with Mango set up through your library’s website, and an iPhone or Android mobile device. Once the apps and lessons have been downloaded, you can learn at your own pace, with or without an internet connection. Search for Mango Languages Library in your app store to access a mobile version of Mango Languages. Free to use with your Dartmouth library card.
Install the Overdrive App and read eBooks or listen to audiobooks on your smartphone or tablet computer. The app works on iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It also works on Android devices including the Nook Color 2/HD/Tablet, the Blackberry and Windows 7 Phones. Search for the word “Overdrive” in your app store or install from this website. Create a free Overdrive Account when prompted – this manages digital copyright. Then read or listen to books for free with your SAILS library network card.Titles transfer wirelessly with the app and check out for either 7, 14 or 21 days.
Download library books to your smartphone with a Dartmouth library card and a free Adobe ID. With an iOS device, you pick out materials to borrow at the Freading website and read the eBook in the app. With an Android device, you find eBooks to borrow and read them from within the app.
To read ebooks on your Kindle Fire, install the Freading App from m.getjar.com. Before installing the app, you must change the settings on your Kindle Fire to allow “unknown applications”. You can turn that setting back off once you install the app.
